Dr. Hanna SCC

The students are back at school and the Dr. L.M. Hanna School Community Council is back up and running for the 2016-17 year.  We want to ensure everyone feels welcome to be involved in the HSCC in any way that works for you and your family.  The HSCC is here to support students, families, the community and the school.  And we have lots of fun along the way.

It is important to note that you do not have to attend meetings to be involved.  We can use volunteers or even just a really great idea.  This year we will maintain a volunteer list.  If you would like to be included on the list please email hannascc@gmail.com or speak to Ms. Hollyoak in the office.  We will send you an email when we are looking for volunteers and if you would like to lend a hand you can let us know.  We understand families are busy and this is a no pressure way you can help from time to time when it fits your schedule.  If you have a suggestion or idea you would like to let us know about please feel free to use the above email.

The first HSCC meeting will take place September 7 at 7pm in the staff room.  Free babysitting is available if you require it.  We hope you are able to attend.

--Sincerely, Dr. Hanna's School Community Council

Welcome Back Tigers!

We are back for another fun- filled year learning.  We want to welcome the many new students, families and staff to the Dr. Hanna School Community.  It is a place full of amazing and caring people.  Like many Regina Public Schools, it is place where ALL STUDENTS MATTER!

School begins 8:53 a.m when the first bell rings.  For our first day of school, students can gather on the school playground until that first bell.  At that time, teachers and supervisors will gather all Grade 1-4 students in the mini-gym and Grade 5-8 students in the main gym.  Here, we will direct students to the appropriate classrooms.

Also pay close attention to your child's agendas and backbacks since valuable information will be coming home.  These forms will need to be returned to the school as quickly as possible.

We are back in the FALL!

Let's keep healthy!

It is that dreaded flu season! Regina Public Schools reminds all parents and guardians to keep students who are ill, or not feeling well, at home

While Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region recommends that any students demonstrating signs of flu should stay home for a full seven days.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Berrns at 791-8594.

The BEST READERS are ENGAGED READERS!

Reading, and a love for reading, can happen for all students.  Together, home and school will engage our children in reading.  The Reading Rocket website is a great resource for teachers, parents and families.   Parents may be interesed in the link "Reading Tips for Parents".  It is great for many reasons including that it is translated into 11 additional languages.  Check it out!
